Mount Laurel Council Authorized Purchase Of 46 Acres For Open Space

On Monday, April 4, 2022 Township Council authorized the Township to buy 46.9 acres of land for open space. Deputy Mayor Steglik said, “The Township is always excited to purchase large parcels of land to preserve. This Council knows residents want more open space and not more traffic from development.”

“This purchase demonstrates Council’s promise to protect and preserve open space. The preservation of these lands add significant environmental value to the Township’s open space and recreation plan, as this purchase of the Back 40 creates a large continuous piece of open space.” Stated Mayor Pritchett.
